Starting with this new year I hope I will do more for the Linux community, with maybe more kernel packages and other packages which could help everyone to keep their laptop/desktop/netbook updated also at top speed, well as much as possible.

Now to go back to the release, big things didn’t change, but the goodies are there. With this new release, I have changed the revision, usually I was using revision 1 or 2 and so on, but now I have changed it to, for example: 2.6.32.3.1. This will look much more better in dpkg or in general in the list of packages installed. The usual fixed and modules are there, for example: acerhdf 0.5.22 (Acer Aspire One fan control module), coretemp is fixed for Intel Atom processors, unionfs patch and support, ureadahead (uber-readahead) for Ubuntu systems (makes booting time faster), plus a custom build which should ensure that the kernel is faster, smaller and stable. Please also check the changelog from kernel.org related to this kernel release http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.32.3.

The installation is the same thing like always or the same way like for any Debian based systems. You need sudo and dpkg, plus you need to download at least the linux-image-2.6.32.3-superfly_2.6.32.3_i386.deb package. The linux-image-2.6.32.3-superfly_2.6.32.3_i386.deb package plus the headers and source code you can find and download them from http://dl.robertalks.com/kernel/2.6.32.3-superfly/ (US/CA mirror) or http://mirror.visualserver.org/kernel/2.6.32.3-superfly/ (CZ mirror). For those of you who want or need to rebuild the kernel, you can download the source code with the config file from http://mirror.visualserver.org/kernel/source/ (CZ mirror).

So, have fun, test and use the kernel and drop me some feedback. Cheers!

I'm happy, week-end is here :)

Anything

General

end

happy

week
<guid

I’m still in the decision making and is so damn hard to make one. I mean there are a lot of options, but also there is “the price”, which sometimes can screw your plans up.

<span
