This suppose to be one of those phones which tries to fake iPhone mixed, I think, with the HTC G2 or something similar.

The price of the phone was $110, which from my standards, its more then a bargain. The phone has a 3.2″ touch screen, with some kick ass colors, I must add. Also included is support for 2 SIM’s, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD, some kind of a multi-touch (maybe not, just some software emulation), TV, Radio, FM Transmiter, accelerometer and many more cool stuff, which some might use them and some might not.

The quality build of the phone it’s quite remarkable, was thinking is gonna suck big time, but I was really surprised. In general the phone is super well done, looking very nice and working the same. The only major or minor issue with it, it’s the cameras, there are 2 of them, but both of the suck, front camera is 0.3M pixel and the back one, I think, 1.3M pixel, but on the phone is written 12.1M pixel, which kind of sucks. Another bordering issue with the phone would be the multi-touch or the touch screen, which is not as responsive when using it with your fingers. If you are using the stylus, then everything works as it should, but if it’s an iPhone copy, well you aspect it to work like iPhone (more or less ).

The phone packing was nice, small and simple and it included the phone (well normally), 2 Li-Ion batteries, wall charger, USB data and charging cable, stereo headset, 2GB microSD card. Taking in consideration that the phone costs $110 and getting so many things, plus a phone that work quite nicely, this is a bargain aspecially if you wanna compare to phones like HTC G1 or G2, iPhone and so on. On the other had, this is not iPhone and doesn’t look maybe as good as iPhone, but it does look good and works good, so there wouldn’t be any reason to not buy it, even if it’s just for the brilliant 3.2″ touch screen, or like in my case because of the WiFi, TV and radio.

With the money I have spent for this phone, here I couldn’t even buy a mini TV or a small portable TV, not to mention the rest of the features coming with it.

<a

This voice which can be downloaded and used with any TomTom GPS device is Homer Simpson’s voice. When I read at first I was thinking is some kind of a joke as Homer Simpson it’s not the most serious voice and in general character from a cartoon, but must admit quite funny.

Like I said, I didn’t take this too seriously, but I was interested to see if it’s true as I do like The Simpson’s. I checked out TomTom’s web page… It was real and I had to get it. Now a GPS device shouldn’t be funny or fun to use, mostly it should make sure you wont get lost and you are on the right track, but the voice is just cracking me up. It’s very cool, I didn’t expected and if any of you will use it, trust me, the trip could end-up very funny… or at least the way.

I wont tell you to get it, as it does cost 10 euros or about 15 dollars, but if you do, you will have a lot of fun with it, especially if you do like The Simpson’s.
<p

About 2 weeks ago Apple has release a new iPhone called 3G S, we are in an economical crisis, all over the world, which means there is no buying power from the consumers (more or less) and in the first week of the new iPhone, Apple has sold 1 million devices.

Now what the f*#?+ is wrong with this picture? I mean if we are in an economical crisis, which means the buying power is much lower then let’s say 2 years ago, how the hell can Apple sell 1 million device in the first week of it’s release? What the hell happened to our priorities, if there are so many issue with this economy, all over the world, less and less jobs and of course less and less money… how is it possible that 1 million people would buy without any issue this new iPhone only in US?

Now, I do understand the idea of a gadget, I like technology too, also I like to buy stuff, which most of the times I wont really use, just like iPhone, but I really don’t like iPhone…

iPhone is one of those gadgets that looks good, seems to do a lot of stuff, but still its a damn mobile phone, its not even a PDA (my opinion). Besides this simple facts, it costs quite a lot, about $300 with contract at AT&T, well in US, but the point would be that is very expensive. How come people can buy this quite expensive phone, but a lot of them still complain about jobs, money and stuff like that? Most important question is: Why would they even buy it? I mean this new iPhone it’s almost the same like the old one besides the specs, but to be realistic, it’s not like you can use it as a computer to really matter the specs. Also using this phone for the application or even buying the application it’s just pure stupidity, in other ways the phone is just the same like any other phone, besides that it looks better or cooler (still doesn’t mean you need to buy it).

Anyway, I don’t really think I will understand this weird obsession over a mobile phone or mp3 player or whatever thing/gadget is out there and it’s super expensive. I would buy a Apple laptop or desktop, because the build and speed it’s really the good, but when it comes to a mobile phone or mp3 player, I just can’t see the point to spend so much money for something that could be done with twice or three times less money.

Our priorities over the years have change, from having food on the table, clothes to dress up and be warm to iPhone and Apple products, anorectic women and stupidity in every way possible.

The world is getting more and more stupider and superficial. (you can quote me on that This one, it’s pure bullshit, unless you are a drug dealer, pimp or you are involved with some underground cartel, you can’t make easy money. Not with Google AdSense or anything similar that anyway. There is a possibility using the idea of pay-per click to make money, but your web page or blog has to have something that will bring over 1000+ unique visitors, every day. The idea of pay-per click is simple, someone visits your web page or blog, sees the ad, sees something interesting and clicks on it. For each click, you get a certain amount of money, usually, no more then $0.2 per click, but if you put 1000 users clicking everyday day on the ads on you web page or blog, over one month you can get really a nice sum of money. The main problem is that even if there are 1000 uniq visitors, you can’t be sure that they will click on the ads and maybe 10-20% of those visitors will ever click on the ads. There also a different way to use your web page or blog and display ads, but it’s based on the idea of how many times the ads are displayed on your web page or blog. The idea, I think is called cost-per-thousand impressions, so this would mean somewhat that you wont be payed on clicks, but on visits on your web page or blog.

Yes, now all of you have the same question: How do I bring 1000+ unique visitors? Well the answer is simple… I have no clue! Depends what your writing on you web page or blog, usually to get visitors, you need to write about something interesting, something that everybody wants to read about, for example Hollywood Life or Celebrity Life, stupid I know, but it sells better then, IT stuff . I’m using Google AdSense for about one and a half year already and the only money that I did in all this time is and was $77, yes you are reading right, $77. I have about 1000 unique visitors, but per month, not per day and this way, I will never do any money with the idea of pay-per click or cost-per-thousand impressions.

About one year ago, there was a trend to make your users, those who visit your web page to click on the ads and in return you would give the user some kind of a service, usually this was used by shell providers, the users didn’t have to pay for the shell account, but every day he/she had to visit an ad, this way his/her user wasn’t deleted. This idea kept like a couple of months and then all of the so called providers died, due to Google and other company which where offering pay-per click service. Google and this other companies didn’t like the idea of making the users or force the users to click on the ads, seemed and maybe it was illegal.

So in other words to close this topic, there is not much you can do to earn big money using Google and others, but you could come up with a blog or web page and will get you a lot of unique visitors which in return could get you a lot of money…

Perfect web server for your blog running CentOS (nginx + php-fpm + mysql)

General

Linux

Talk

blog

centos

mysql

nginx

php

php-fpm

vps

web server
<guid

Like I said, having a blog it’s not a big deal, but having a dedicated server or VPS with your own custom setup can be some what difficult to achieve. I’m talking about a setup which includes nginx as a web server, php-fpm as a back-end php server and mysql server as a database server. The easy way how to do this, could be by installing this packages from the distro’s repository, but again, is this case I will do it from the source code.

To start with this, we need a VPS or dedicated server, which can be a problem, because can cost some money. A VPS can cost from about $20 and up and you’ll get with this money about 256MB of RAM and maybe 10-20GB of disk space. If you need something better or faster, a dedicated server would do the job and the price for having a dedicated server would easily start from $50 and up.

Remember, for this web server, we need at least 256MB of RAM and let’s say 2GB free disk space, to be able to build nginx, php-fpm and MySQL.

I will assume that we already have the VPS or dedicated server, the OS it’s already install and everything is up and running. What we need now its to download the source code of nginx, php, php-fpm patch and MySQL, then build them, install them and of course configured them.

Before we start, I have to remind you that it is possible that some builds will fail due to some missing libraries, which you will need to install at that time and the version of the applications in this post might not be the same as maybe in a month from the time I’m writing this, so this means it could be newer versions, which you will need to check.

We do everything with user root, much more easier, the to use sudo.
Download the source code (nginx, php, MySQL and php-fpm patch):

> mkdir build
> cd build<br

This configuration and setup works perfectly for my blog, which is this, from where you’re reading now. The hardware it’s not very powerful, it’s an Intel P4 at 2.8Ghz, with 512MB of RAM and 75GB disk and as I remember a 100 Mbit line. The system is running on CentOS 5.3, only 32bit kernel and its fast and very stable… don’t really think you need more then this for your personal blog and maybe web page. If you have a lot of hits on your blog, you might need a better system, not because of the web server, but because of MySQL and even php, which will start eating the resources if it’s necessary.

Do not forget, this setup is design like this:

All the applications are install in directory /applications, all the data, the blog itself, MySQL database are install in /srv and all the logs go into /var/log and /var/log/nginx. If you want a totally different configuration, then you need to modify accordingly to what you want.

P.S. I can not guarantee that this post will help 100% or it will work 100%. This is my way of working and doing the setup, but depends on everybody style and know-how. Do not forget to recheck the configuration of nginx, php and MySQL. Setup can differ depending on your system.<br
