TweeU 1.1 is out and about!

0

Well, just released a new kernel version and at the same time I had to also update TweeU, the WordPress plugin. The changes in this release are only regarding the Twitter authentication, which has changed since 1st of August, as I remember.

Twitter doesn’t allow anymore the basic authentication so this had to be modified also in TweeU. So for all of you who use TweeU, I suggest to update the plugin or if you wanna start using it, you can find TweeU at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweeu/ or http://www.robertalks.com/tweeu/.

The installation or update is relatively simple and guided by WordPress, so there shouldn’t be any problems with it. One thing you may have problems with is when you allowed the plugin in Twitter and you are redirected to the WordPress plugin page it may give you an error as it failed to authenticate. At this point you will only need to refresh/reload the plugin page and everything will work fine. I’m still not sure why is this happening, but as soon as I find the issue/problem, I will fix it.

So, have fun with it, get on blogging and twitting :)

TweeU plugin for WordPress released (version 1.0)

0

A couple of days ago I have created a new plugin, TweeU, based on Tweetly Updater. This plugin updates your Twitter account with the new posts from your blog when they are published and creates a short URL link to the post using buh.bz. The difference between the original plugin, Tweetly Updater and TweeU is that this new plugin uses buh.bz URL shortening services instead of bit.ly.

Kernel 2.6.32-final for Debian/Ubuntu is here!

6

Today, the kernel development team has release the stable version of the kernel 2.6.32. This version should include a lot of bug fixes, improvements and added functionality and drivers. Like usual, when there is a kernel release, I also do a kernel package release, which in this case is called “final“, as its a major and stable release of a new kernel tree, 2 6.32. I’m not gonna talk too much about the this kernel release, but I will talk about the package which includes this kernel. To find what actually has changed in this kernel version, I would recommend all of you to read the change log from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.32.

Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala” released!

0

The day has come for Karmic Koala to be released. Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala” is here!

I’ve been waiting for this release for quite a while now. I’ve tested most releases since 8.04 and I had to stick to 8.04 due to the stability and functionality of it. Most of the new releases had issues and problems, from the Intel video driver issues to simple instability of the system for every day use.

Tried already the beta and RC version of Ubuntu 9.10 and until now I can only say nice things about it. Nice gnome changes, like removal of images in the buttons, speed up and more functionality. In plus this new release should also be faster and more stable compared to the previous releases.

Kernel 2.6.31.5-firebird released for Debian/Ubuntu (Firebird)

6

As I wrote in my previous post, today I am launching the new kernel package for Debian/Ubuntu 2.6.31.5-firebird based on kernel version 2.6.31.5. This new package contains the latest kernel, acerhdf module for Acer Aspire One (version 0.5.19) and coretemp patched for Intel Atom processors. If you wanna read more about what this new kernel packs, please check out http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.31.5.

Usually, I do not release any kernel package based on kernel version 2.6.31.[0-9] as I had some bad experience with it, plus it didn’t function as I would wished, but after some tests with this new kernel version I end-up with the conclusion it needs to be released.
