The day has come for Karmic Koala to be released. Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala” is here!

I’ve been waiting for this release for quite a while now. I’ve tested most releases since 8.04 and I had to stick to 8.04 due to the stability and functionality of it. Most of the new releases had issues and problems, from the Intel video driver issues to simple instability of the system for every day use.

Tried already the beta and RC version of Ubuntu 9.10 and until now I can only say nice things about it. Nice gnome changes, like removal of images in the buttons, speed up and more functionality. In plus this new release should also be faster and more stable compared to the previous releases.

This release comes with the latest kernel version 2.6.31, updates for all packages included in this release, Ubuntu One for backup, sharing of files, AppAmor new profiles and version, hal deprecation, new Intel driver architecture, moving from EXA to UXA video acceleration method and so on.

The changes are big and endless to write them here now. But if you are interested in this new release, go to the Ubuntu download page http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and take this new release for a spin, I really thing you will enjoy it.
