Because there was some stuff missing from the first revision, this new revision, 2, has now pciehp added as a module. Seems it didn’t work right if it was build in the kernel. Also I have tried to build unionfs into this revision, but it’s not possible, the patch it’s not finished or I’m really missing something.
After googling for a while, I noticed that nobody is using the kernel patch, they are just build it and installing it as a module. I’m not sure what’s the deal, but the unionfs patch doesn’t add the options in the main Makefile, so you can’t really enable it. If there is a different way, I don’t know it, but if any of you have an idea on how to do this, please let me know and I will add the unionfs file system.

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve made any modification to visualserver.org main web site, but now as in about one month it’s the 2 year anniversary since I’ve started visualserver.org, I had to put something new up. The old web site was hand made using HTML, PHP and a bit of Adobe Photoshop. It worked quite well and was let’s say easy to modified, but didn’t really look very professional. Now the new web site it’s not hand made anymore (well more or less) it was build using a CMS (content management system) called Concrete5 which seems to be a super well done CMS.

A new kernel version has been released by the kernel development team and with this a new kernel package build also is now released by me for Debian/Ubuntu. This new release includes kernel 2.6.30.2 with acerhdf fan module (0.5.16) for Acer Aspire One, coretemp fix for Intel Atom based netbooks/desktops, plus removal of different kernel hacking settings for a kernel speed-up. Now what this new kernel version has to offer can be found at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.30.2.

This new Debian/Ubuntu kernel package based on kernel version 2.6.30.1 and it comes with all the major bug fixed and improvements plus there is the latest version of acerhdf module (0.5.14) and it includes also the coretemp fix for Intel Atom CPU’s.
The name of this new release, Shinedown, comes from one of my favorite rock bands, but has no special meaning to it, so you can ignore it if you want to.
Also to be able to know whats new in this release, you should check out http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.30.1.

Two, three days ago I was reading some blog on which it was announced that TomTom, the GPS device manufacturer, has released a new voice for their devices. This voice which can be downloaded and used with any TomTom GPS device is Homer Simpson’s voice. When I read at first I was thinking is some kind of a joke as Homer Simpson it’s not the most serious voice and in general character from a cartoon, but must admit quite funny.
