Me and my big mouth!
In my last post I wrote a small review about Ubuntu 9.04, the latest release from Canonical. I wrote in that post so many good things about the new version and I even believed it myself, until I actually move with my work laptop from 8.04 to 9.04. As a warning to everyone, do not do what I did. Stick with 8.04 or 8.10, because 9.04 its very unstable, has a lots of bugs and can be very very unstable.
When I moved to 9.04, everything worked fine, the installation and the first boot were just as they should be, until I realised that there is a huge bug in the Intel video drivers which wont allow me to use compiz, plus will crash my system once in a while for the fun of it, just because I was using to fast Alt+Tab.
There are way too many issues with the new version, which wont allow you to properly use your deskptop/laptop. The idea behind is that the boot times are super good, the desktop times are just shit.
Anyway, I do hope that in the next couple of days or weeks they will fix the major bugs and this new release will look more like a Linux then a Windows, well actually behave more like a Linux then a Windows ![]()
Cheers!
