Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty Jackalope' released
Today, Canonical has release their latest Linux version, Ubuntu 9.04 code name “Jaunty Jackalope”. This release brings a lot of improvements, also a lot of new stuff, latest kernel version 2.6.28, latest Gnome 2.26, Xorg 1.6, new style of notification, ext4 support, but not by default ext4 file system, cloud computing, turn-key mail server, which includes postfix with dovecot and support for SMTP, POP, IMAP, TLS and SASL.
Also in this new release, the guys from Ubuntu development team work hard to improve the boot times, support for more hardware which included Wacom tablets, better support for dual-screen, nVidia and ATI graphic cards and so on.
I’m not sure how better this new release is, as I haven’t tested it yet, but I hope this week I will have the possibility to do a test and write some conclusions about it.
